Twilight awakens, as the moon rises high,
Stars thrust across the ever-boundless sky,
We roots of the earth, gape in awe,
As we look at the world as God once saw.
Genders entwined, walking hand in hand,
Equality like that of ocean and sand,
Laughter for some, happiness for all,
Where every person could stand up, stand tall.
Instead the world's in ruin, from fire and pain,
Where countries pray for just one drop of rain,
Starvation is accepted, as others fall down to die,
Graves gather in numbers, as our lives pass us by.
As the earth gathers sources, she gives us her soil,
Flourishing crops, deep waters, minerals and oil,
Snapped up within minutes, forgotten and betrayed,
As we use them all, our path to death is laid.
No nourishment, no fuels, no water for the thirst,
God didn't see this world for us, not this curse,
He saw a world of bliss, love and connection,
But this is no world, it is a manifestation.
We live with our pride, our lives are our own,
But the truth is that if we don't help, we'll be alone,
Guilt sets in as we eat freely within our land,
For as we do, others starve to our selfish hand.
Our pride rules our emotions, our thoughts and our lives,
Why would we sink to their level, to be as deprived?
As we sit in the warmth, healthy and pure,
They'll be furiously working, to find a cure.
Young hearts are broken, entire worlds are crushed,
As all their senses are entirely hushed,
Silence follows in suit, as they contemplate life,
Must we be joyful, when their lives end in strife?
Parents are murdered, siblings are killed,
Why should we ignore the blood that is spilled?
Ignorance is bliss, whilst their fate is set in stone,
They shall have to forever live alone.
God created us to live equally as one,
Whilst instead we ruin the world, it can't be undone,
Families are ripped, our hearts in turn,
When will the world ever learn?
